Brevis Nears Return Ahead of Key Fixture

Tekkabuzz999 Dewald Brevis hinted that he has recovered from a side strain during a sponsor event on Wednesday. Chennai Super Kings is likely to get a boost ahead of its next match against Delhi Capitals on April 11, with middle-order batter Dewald Brevis all set to be fit for the crucial fixture.

The South African batter suggested he is ready to return, saying, “I can’t wait to see you on the 11th, every match everywhere we play,” when asked to give a message to the CSK fans.

CSK Struggles Continue This Season

The five-time champion, which finished last in 2025, has gotten off to a poor start this year, having lost its first three matches. Brevis had been a bright spot last season, scoring 225 runs in six matches after joining the squad as an injury replacement for Gurjapneet Singh.

Dhoni Likely to Miss Another Match

Meanwhile, M.S. Dhoni, who is recovering from a calf strain in the city, is unlikely to feature on Saturday. The former skipper was ruled out of the first two weeks of the tournament ahead of the team’s first game and did not travel to the team’s away fixtures in Guwahati and Bengaluru.

The 44-year-old, however, did train in Chennai before the team’s first home fixture against the Punjab Kings last week.
